BOARD OF DIRECTORS
DR. MARK MELLIAR-SMITH
Dr. Melliar-Smith brings over 30 years of leadership in the semiconductor industry. He is currently the COO of Molecular Imprints, the leading manufacturer of step and flash imprint lithography. Prior to joining MII, Mark was a Venture Partner with Austin Ventures, and before that he was President and CEO of SEMATECH (1997 to 2001) and Chief Technical Officer for Lucent Technologies Microelectronics, the forerunner of Agere Systems (1990 - 1996). Mark has held a wide variety of technical and management positions in R&D, manufacturing, and business management, including Executive Director of the Bell Laboratories Photonics and Integrated Circuit Division, and also as the VP and General Manager of the AT&T Lightwave Business Unit. Dr. Melliar-Smith holds BS, PhD and MBA degrees.

Bill Wood has a successful track record in the enterprise software and semiconductor investment arena. He is the VC backer of the following:

Bill currently invests personally in early stage companies through Silverton Partners, a private partnership. Prior to founding Silverton Partners, Bill was a founding general partner of Austin Ventures.
TALAT HASAN
Mrs. Hasan has successfully taken two semiconductor equipment businesses from inception through acquisition. She began her career as a scientist, conducting research in semiconductor characterization and process control at Signetics Corporation/Philips Research Lab. In answer to an industry need, Mrs. Hasan co-founded Prometrix, which became a leading supplier of thin film measurement tools prior to its 1993 merger with Tencor Instruments (now KLA/Tencor). Post-Prometrix, Hasan was vice president of corporate business development for Tencor instruments. In 1996, she formed Sensys Instruments to market products for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Sensys was recently acquired by Therma-wave, where Mrs. Hasan currently serves on the board. She holds a B.Sc. in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University and a M.A. in Physics from Oxford University.
