Metrosol Appoints New CEO
Rapidly Growing Semiconductor Metrology Manufacturer
Prepares for Next Phase

Austin, TX, January 2, 2007

Metrosol, Inc., an Austin, TX based developer and manufacturer of advanced semiconductor metrology systems, announces the appointment of Kevin P. Fahey, Ph.D. to serve as the company's president and chief executive officer.

Metrosol, founded in 2002, has developed and commercialized a unique optical reflectometry technique that quickly and accurately measures ultrathin films and advanced semiconductor materials using a broadband spectrum that includes vacuum ultra-violet wavelengths down to 120 nm. As semiconductor films become increasingly thinner and materials become more complex, these shorter wavelengths provide customers with crucial measurement data unavailable to them via their current metrology set.

As of summer 2006, Metrosol has three primary products; two R&D tools with different wavelength ranges/applications and its flagship fully automated production system for front end 45/32 nm semiconductor manufacturing. Metrosol found itself on target for exponential growth in the semiconductor fab market. The Metrosol board of directors along with executive management felt new leadership could expedite the organization to the next level. After an extensive search, Dr. Fahey was unanimously selected for his business leadership accomplishments, extensive technical experience, and positive personal qualities. He will focus on rapid sales expansion, operations efficiency, aggressive product positioning and creating the highest level of service and support as Metrosol's customers begin implementing its systems into their high volume production ramp for 45/32 nm.

Dr. Fahey brings a wealth of international business development and technical expertise to Metrosol. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Most recently, Fahey was Vice President and General Manager of the Fab Market Division within FEI Company, a global leader in providing innovative instruments for nanoscale imaging, analysis and prototyping.
